PharmaNova, Inc. Announces Acceptance of Publication of Dr. Deepak Thassuís Book, Ocular Drug Delivery System: Barriers and Application of Nanoparticulate Systems

PharmaNova, Inc. of Victor, NY announced today, March 15, 2010, Dr. Deepak Thassu’s book, Ocular Drug Delivery System: Barriers and Application of Nanoparticulate Systems  has been accepted by Taylor & Francis Group (CRC Press) for publication.  The book is focused on ocular physiology, drug delivery barriers, and recent trends on drug delivery to the posterior eye, and application of nanoparticles based delivery systems to enhance drug efficacy.    Dr. Gerald Chader, Professor of Ophthalmology & CEO of Doheny Retina Institute and University of Southern California School of Medicine will co-author the book.  

Dr. Thassu, an eminent nanotechnology and drug delivery specialist has been with PharmaNova as VP Pharmaceutical Development since 2008.   Dr. Thassu developed the NovaSperse nanoparticle platform at PharmaNova.  Dr. Thassu is an inventor on multiple US and EU drug delivery and formulation patents and is the author and/or editor of several books and book chapters. His first book in the area of (pharmaceutical) nanotechnology, “Nanoparticulate Drug Delivery Systems,” was published in 2007. 


Dr. Thassu said, “The development of future medicines for ophthalmic indications will be enhanced by the application of nanotechnology and PharmaNova’s proprietary technology based surface modified nanoparticles”.
