PharmaNova Drug Delivery Devices
PharmaNova Drug Delivery Devices
Chronic diseases such as diabetes, pain, epilepsy and glaucoma require patients to administer drug frequently. Drug delivery devices improve patient compliance, but existing device designs include a number of significant risks and shortcomings.
PharmaNova has filed patent applications for novel improvements to drug delivery devices that address these disadvantages, and currently is seeking partners to develop and commercialize these improvements.
PharmaNova’s patent applications describe concepts to reduce risks by:
1. Implanting the device to decrease the risk of infection
2. Utilizing novel approaches to reduce device size and power requirements
3. Incorporating unique mechanisms to reduce protein deposition at the end of the catheter, thereby reducing the risk of drug delivery stoppage
4. Developing a novel refilling procedure that eliminates inadvertent delivery of drug outside the device and into the body
5. Inventing a secure wireless remote (re)programming system to eliminate unintended changes
6. Including verification systems to ensure proper functioning of the device
